The Sentinel-1 SentiWiki chapter is organized as follows:

S1 Mission

This section introduces the mission covering all major aspects, from the satellite description to the data acquisition modes. The SAR instrument is described in detail, as well as SAR imagery and its general applications, polarimetry and interferometry.  The observation and production scenarios, mission-specific, are reported.

Furthermore, it contains an introduction to more specific aspects of the mission such as performance indices, calibration activities, and Precise Orbit Determination (POD) auxiliary files specification.

S1 Applications

This section is dedicated to the Sentinel-1 radar imagery applications, where the main thematic areas, land monitoring, maritime monitoring and emergency management are presented in depth with the aid of real-application examples and detailed descriptions.

Moreover, this section provides general guidelines to choose the best suitable products to process for a particular application.

S1 Products

This section defines the SAR product features for each acquisition mode, from the processing levels to the different resolutions. The production baseline is also reported, as well as the naming convention used by the user to discover the data online.

Moreover, for each product level, it provides the related data formatting and it explains in detail the specific properties of Level-0, Level-1 , ETAD products and Level-2 products.

In the last paragraph, Related Production, the user can discover useful products in support of the data offer. 

S1 Processing

This section provides information on the processing behind the product generation and the processing baselines for all levels are presented as the starting point. Further, it explains in detail the product slicing mode used to operate in a more efficient way.  

Given these premises, the section illustrates the processing algorithms for each level, i.e. Level 0, Level 1, Level 2, and a brief description about the ETAD products algorithm. Finally, it defines the Precise Orbit Determintion (POD) auxiliary files necessary for the processing.
